Quantum Chemistry 12.6 - Point Group Examples
Short lecture on examples of molecular point groups. Linear molecules fall into two groups based on being homonuclear or heternuclear. Cubic groups such as tetrahedral, octahedral, and icosahedral are very high symmetry. Most molecules fall into either cyclic or dihedral type point groups.
