Qubic - (1968) {101 Basic Computer Games } [77] ✖️❌⭕ Confusing four sides!
Name: Qubic Developer: Unknown Year: 1968 Simulation/ Emulation/ Playable: Available Platform: PC ⭐ ✅ Description✅ The game is tic-tac-toe in a 4 x 4 x 4 cube. Each move is indicated by a 3-digit number, with each digit between 1 and 4 inclusive. The digits indicate the level, column, and row, respectively, of the occupied place. His version of Qubic (registered as DECUS No. 5-38) (now lost online) was cited by David Ahl in his seminal book BASIC Computer Games (1973), where Ahl mentions that the BASIC version was based directly on Hamann's original program for the PDP-8. In later issues of the magazine, from 1975 onwards, he deliberately omits this. PD: The game was clearly based on the board game Qubic by Parkers Brothers from 1964. PD2: In the OG version, you had to keep track of game progress by hand.
