Episode 2 of our Windrose Adventures finally gets us off the island and onto the open sea.
After finishing up our starter houses, grinding out supplies, and getting some basic gear together, Havoc and I launch our first boat — a tiny little skiff that immediately feels way too small for what we’re about to deal with.
Barely away from shore, we spot massive pirate ships in the distance and attempt to quietly skirt around the edge of the island unnoticed.
That plan lasts about five seconds.
Things quickly spiral into panic, bad decisions, and Havoc somehow convincing himself he can swim out and board an enemy pirate ship… which ends exactly how you’d expect.
After regrouping, we try again and eventually make it to a nearby island before finally reaching a larger island where we begin rescuing members of our former crew and searching for a larger repairable ship.
Along the way we clear pirate camps with questionable combat skills, fight way too many crabs, and continue proving that we are absolutely not qualified to be pirates.
This episode is full of exploration, sarcastic banter, terrible choices, and the beginning of our true pirate adventure in Windrose.
