questions from student about Refracting at a flat surface

This is a quick video to respond to some questions in the reading and some concepts that may need a bit more clarity. some of the questions addressed were:The three main quesitons were: - about how light bends when it goes from a lower index (air) into a higher index (poly or CR39) ...which it bends TOWARDS THE NORMAL....rather than when exiting a lens, which is moving from a HIGHER index (Poly or plastic) into air, in which case it bends/refracts AWAY from the normal. -clarifying 'APICAL" angle of a prism in the reading -question about when moving into a medium into another medium...question was " going from a "dense" medium to a more "dense" medium", rather than just coming from AIR into a lens or back out again (think for example a lens UNDERWATER rather than in air (water has an n= about 1.33)
