When you're older, it gets harder to get up and down from furniture, especially if it is already low. Adjust the height of your furniture with homemade wooden risers. I came home and had enough scrap wood to make a real jerry-rigged set of blocks that would raise her couch almost four inches. My son Jacob came home while I was doing it, so he helped film and position them once they were done.
