Storm clouds rolling into the Adirondacks while we install a dual-axis tracker on top of a mountain. One thing many people don’t realize is that solar panels do not need direct sunlight to produce power. Solar panels work by capturing photons, so even under cloudy skies they are still generating electricity. What makes this setup especially interesting for the Adirondacks is the use of bifacial solar panels paired with the tracking system. The tracker follows the sun throughout the day to maximize production, and during the winter our snow-covered ground can actually help performance by reflecting photons back onto the backside of the panels for additional energy production. A pretty awesome combination of tracking technology, bifacial panels, and Adirondack conditions. ADK Solar specializes in off-grid, grid-tied, battery backup, and custom solar installations throughout Upstate New York and the Adirondacks. #Solar #SolarTracker #BifacialSolar #RenewableEnergy #ADKSolar #OffGrid
