RADICAL ACCEPTANCE is the first DBT skill in the Reality Acceptance Skills Category. RADICAL ACCEPTANCE is accepting in your mind, body and soul what is as it is, the facts, wholeheartedly. RADICAL ACCEPTANCE asks us to accept reality as it is, that there are limitations on the future, that everything has a cause and that life can be worth living even with painful events in it. RADICAL ACCEPTANCE explains that lack of acceptance leads to suffering. RADICAL ACCEPTANCE is not approval, love or against change. RADICAL ACCEPTANCE because rejecting reality does not change reality and changing reality first requires accepting reality!
Your challenge is to take special notice of when you are rejecting reality and make an attempt at Radical Acceptance.
