rail runner departure
🚆🌄 ERREC Updates & Announcements from Santa Fe 🌄🚆 This past week, ERREC — Extreme Railfan Redwood Empire Corporation traveled to Santa Fe for a special fundraising and media trip focused on promoting railroad preservation, expanding outreach, and documenting some of the most unique passenger rail experiences in the Southwest. The trip helped bring attention to ERREC’s ongoing projects while also creating new 4K content for railfans and supporters to enjoy. During the trip, ERREC captured extensive footage of the New Mexico Rail Runner Express operating across New Mexico with beautiful scenery, station arrivals, horns, crossings, and cinematic rail action throughout the region. These upcoming videos will showcase the excitement of modern passenger railroading mixed with the incredible backdrop of the Southwest landscape. ERREC also spent time documenting excursions operated by Sky Railway including the famous “Sunset Serenade,” “Lore of the Land,” “Jazz Under the Stars,” and “Stargazer” experiences in full 4K. From golden hour sunsets to nighttime rail scenes under the stars, this trip captured some truly unforgettable moments aboard Sky Railway. “Sunset Serenade” featured breathtaking evening skies and relaxing rail travel through the desert landscape, while “Lore of the Land” highlighted the culture, stories, and beauty that make New Mexico rail excursions so unique. “Jazz Under the Stars” brought live music and nighttime railroading together for an incredible atmosphere, and “Stargazer” delivered amazing night scenes filled with glowing passenger cars and dark desert skies. This Santa Fe trip was not only about filming trains — it was also an important fundraiser trip for ERREC. Every video, every share, every supporter, and every donation helps move the organization closer to its preservation goals, including the effort to help secure and preserve the Amtrak lounge car project for the future. Now that Santa Fe coverage is complete, ERREC is preparing for the next big trip: Belen. The upcoming Belen trip will last 3 days and will include more railroad coverage, railfan action, preservation updates, and new opportunities to meet supporters and document New Mexico railroading. Belen is one of the most important railroad locations in the Southwest, known for heavy freight traffic, historic railroad significance, and nonstop train action. ERREC plans to capture everything possible during the visit, bringing viewers another immersive 4K railroad experience.
