Multi-Ping works by increasing the number of ultrasonic readings per second sent via serial output to a connected lens control system. The goal of the increased amount of data is to mitigate possible delay between readings received by a focus motor when focus tracking or autofocus is engaged. Multi-Ping is designed specifically for focus tracking/autofocus applications and is not recommended as a full-time setting for regular distance reference use.
