The 49th Annual Music & Dance Festival of Satyabadi Sangita Mahavidyalaya in Sakhigopal featured the premiere of a major new Odissi dance production titled "Rasasritam" (Radha & Meera). This production explores the emotional and spiritual contrast between Radha's Prema Rasa (divine longing/love) and Meera's Bhakti Rasa (complete meditative surrender). The production was brought to life by an elite ensemble of Odia classical artists. Dance Choreographed by Guru Lingaraja Swain, Music Composed by the renowned vocalist Sukanta Kumar Kundu, Rhythm Designed by the Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Guru Dhaneswar Swain. Since this was the 49th edition, the institution is now entering its Golden Jubilee year (50th anniversary).
