RASASRITAM
The 49th Annual Music & Dance Festival of Satyabadi Sangita Mahavidyalaya in Sakhigopal featured the premiere of a major new Odissi dance production titled "Rasasritam" (Radha & Meera). This production explores the emotional and spiritual contrast between Radha's Prema Rasa (divine longing/love) and Meera's Bhakti Rasa (complete meditative surrender). The production was brought to life by an elite ensemble of Odia classical artists. Dance Choreographed by Guru Lingaraja Swain, Music Composed by the renowned vocalist Sukanta Kumar Kundu, Rhythm Designed by the Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Guru Dhaneswar Swain. This is a wonderful record of a significant milestone for the Satyabadi Sangita Mahavidyalaya. The 49th Annual Festival clearly served as a high-caliber platform, bringing together legends like Guru Sukanta Kundu & Guru Dhaneswar Swain and Abhiram Nanda Ramesh chandra Das Yogesh Dutt & Badrinarayan khuntia Guru Lingaraja Swain to support new choreography. written by ARTATRANA SATAPATHY The production "Rasasritam" sounds like a sophisticated exploration of Shringara and Bhakti, contrasting the intense, personal love of Radha with the selfless, saintly devotion of Meera—a perfect thematic choice for the spiritual atmosphere of Sakhigopal. Since this was the 49th edition, the institution is now entering its Golden Jubilee year (50th anniversary).
