Unfortunately, this series' run of stellar episodes has officially come to an end. But, what a run it was.
It's not even that the first episode is bad, per say. It's just...bland. It reminds me of some of the other true filler episodes from early in the show's run, only without the emotional core or dynamic visuals that made them still worth the watch.
I learned more about Cyborg in the car romp or Beast Boy when he was fighting Aqualad than I learned about either in this supposed spotlight. Honestly, the one who came out with the most development was Gizmo of all people. And, as much as I love the little weirdo, that's just not enough haha.
All that said, the second episode this time around is PHENOMENAL. Quite possibly my favorite so far. So, i guess it balances out
