Reading Charts: The Basics

The basics on reading knitting charts. Charts show how the work looks from the right, or public, side. RS rows are labeled on right. WS rows are labeled on left. Read RS rows from right to left. Read WS rows from left to right. Check the key for what symbols mean. When working flat, symbols will have different directions for RS rows and WS rows.
