This video shows in real time, how I use my light box to make a tracing of my watering can. Tracing is a very important first step to teaching yourself to draw on your own. You will never see any ads before, during, or after any of my videos. I receive no compensation from Amazon for the product links below. Also, I do not accept any compensation for products that I use in my videos. I purchase all the products I use in my videos and do not accept samples of products from vendors. Background music from Youtube Audio Library https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music?nv=1 From Composer Aakash Gandhi Some art supplies used in this video: Porta-Trace / Gagne 1118-2 Stainless Steel LED Light Box (11 x 18") 12 LED https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1115974-REG/porta_trace_gagne_1118_2_led_11x18_led_stainless_steel.html I purchased this in May, 2017 from B&H Photo, just after I started painting watercolors. It taught me how to draw with pencil and paper, first by tracing to learn the shapes, then, with practice, by eye, just looking at an object. The 11x18 size is large enough for what I paint and it has 12 LED’s that makes it bright enough to see a tracing through 140# paper. I have tried the cheaper thin flat panel light boxes and found them to not last very long because of how the electrical cord plugs in. I had to throw one flat panel light box out because it quit working. The electrical wire would make intermittent contact inside the panel and it would go off frequently. This Porta-Trace has been my friend on my artistic journey and with the LED lighting should last a long time. AmazonBasics 5" x 7" Photo Picture Frame or 4" x 6" with Mat - Black, 2-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079LNFJQX/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_SLeOEbV4B1QXH This is a 2-pack, so one frame is about $6. I like how the frame comes with a mat that lets you choose to display a 5x7 painting or a 4x6 painting inside the mat. Zebra Pen DelGuard Mechanical Pencil with Bonus Lead Refill, Fine Point, 0.5mm Point Size, Standard #2 HB Lead, White Barrel, 1-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079Q7K82L/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_8SeOEbDXF7EAB This pencil is very comfortable to hold and feeds out lead perfectly in small increments. It is white so that with a small Micron pen I can write on the barrel the type of lead that is inside. Pentel Super Hi-Polymer Lead Refill, 0.5mm, Fine, 4B, 144 Pieces of Lead (C505-4B) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004M8R9IC/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_FXeOEbZVV8Q6Q I use this 4B soft lead for my sketches on 140# watercolor paper because it is easier to erase. The 0.5mm size is good as long as you do not extend the lead too far. If the lead is too far extended it will break. I use this lead in the Zebra DelGuard pencil because it allows you to advance the lead in short increments. Acrylic Photo Frame 5X7-1 Pack Clear Double Sided Magnetic Picture Frameless Desktop Display https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TB9CYCK/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_42VMEb0WAKTVQ I use all sizes of these photo frames to hold watercolor paper that I cut manually, and I use the pre-cut paper. Strathmore Ready Cut Watercolor Sheets - 5'' x 7'', Cold Press, 25 Sheets https://www.dickblick.com/items/10094-1000/ I use ready cut sheets in multiple sized so I do not need to cut big sheets of 140# paper. Small Brushed Nickel Coated Magnets, 5mm x 3mm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0XJD3O/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_FRUMEb6NYRKFW I use various sizes of magnets, including the ones above and small 3mm x 2mm plus larger 8mm x 3mm. I also use these magnets to hang artwork on the wall with the following: Kikkerland Photo and Card Holder with 8 Magnets, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029SHUTA/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_xZVMEbWJ038MZ
