This is an inexpensive way to reattach hammer felt that has popped off without having to replace the entire hammer, or wait for glue to dry that might not even hold. I know plenty of techs who say glue alone works just fine for them; it never has for me so this is what I do in field when replacing isn't the best option for the customer.
