CVE Program Technical Workshop 2025 – Day 02, Session 04 Session Speakers: Kris Britton and Dave Welch Summary: Over the past two decades, the CVE Program has grappled with the issue of “link rot,” where informational references and hyperlinks within CVE Records (pointing to external resources such as public advisories, mitigation details, and contextual clarifications) become broken or outdated over time, resulting in the loss of critical information tied to published vulnerabilities. To address this challenge, the “CVE Record Reference Archive Project” was initiated with the mission of preserving these references permanently. By ensuring the long-term availability of all relevant information linked to published CVE Records, the project seeks to maintain the integrity, accessibility, and reliability of this essential data. This presentation delves into the project's key objectives, the services being developed to fulfill these goals, and the current status of the initiative. https://www.cve.org/ https://www.cve.org/ProgramOrganization/WorkingGroups#AutomationWorkingGroupAWG
