Remington Model 31

Remington Model 31 The Great Depression brought us the shotgun in our last video, Winchester Model 42, and now here is what Remington was embracing at the time in 1931........the Remington Model 31, this one here is vintage 1946. It was up against the best pump action shotguns ever created in the Winchester Model 12 (and Model 42) not to mention the "still in the game" Winchester Model 1897. Amazingly, it held it's own but never sold the same numbers. It did, however, hold a spot for Remington in the shotgun filed that was filled with the Remington Model 870 in 1950 that sadly saw the demise of the Model 31 but also the rise of Remington as the king of the pump action shotgun as the 870 simply dominated. This Remington Model 31 was sold just 5 months after World War II ended to someone in the United States of America that was struggling through the Great Depression and maybe it helped put food on the table......or defend the home during troubled times.....or both. One thing is for sure.....it shoots 25's for me at the trap range and is held high by this collector and Guntuber and is proudly brought to you here. Enjoy! Thanks for tuning in!
