In this very short video I will use ENVI to tell me the pixel reflectance of different wavelengths to give me a picture of what is on the ground.
In choosing bands for an image note that we could do just infrared (band 4) but having more bands we can see more information (more wavelengths) on a line graph. but using just infrared is ok if thats all we are concerned with.
If you'd like to see reflectance of all bands we use the spectral profile (along 'x' axis are all 7 bands, and 'y' their reflectance) Click: Spectral Profile [just above the Linear 1-2-5% drop down button used earlier]. With it, click anywhere for a single line graph.
Landsat uses 7 bands:
1 - Blue
2 - Green
3 - Red
4 - Near Infrared
5 - Shortwave Infrared (1)
6 - Thermal
7 Shortwave Infrared (2)
