Here is a new very cool technique for rendering oceans in Solaris using Renderman. Now, I have done tutorials before on this subject matter, but in those tutorials we had to use MaterialX and some trickery to get things working in Renderman. We could only do it with RIS as well.
Well that has all changed. I have found a way to render oceans in Solaris with Renderman in RIS/XPU in LAMA or PxrSurface. This will allow you to fully art direct an ocean using all the tools and speed that Renderman has to offer.
