REPEAT FORMATION TESTER (RFT) LOG:
The wireline formation tester used successfully for many years to recover fluid samples and record pressure measurements. The information from such surveys, when combined with conventional drillstem or production test results, usually adequately described the behavior of homogeneous reservoirs.
With repeat formation tester (RFT) it is possible to make unlimited number of small volume tests (pretests) of discrete intervals of formation, in a single trip down hole.
In addition, two formation fluid samples can be taking per trip. It has become a major tool in the open-hole measurement of reservoir pressure and permeability.
