The dependent t-test (called the paired-samples t-test in SPSS Statistics) compares the means between two related groups on the same continuous, dependent variable. In this session, Dr. Taylor will discuss the concepts and application of the paired samples t-test. Precisely, an example research question, as well as null and alternative hypotheses, will be addressed. Dr. Taylor will show how to accomplish the paired samples t-test using SPSS (version 29), interpret SPSS output, and create APA-compliant results, including appropriate graphs and figures. An example of copying and pasting the SPSS syntax and output files will be presented.
