Door lock is a common problem for aging cars, BMW E36 included. My driver side door does not lock or unlock randomly and I do not want my car to get broken in. Hence I tried my luck with China made door lock actuators. The unit I received did not work but fortunately the seller agreed to resend another. However I did not want to wait for the new unit to arrive and I bought BMW OEM actuator made by VDO.
