In this video, we think about what should be included in a research report introduction using an analogy of a jigsaw.
A research report introductions usually includes:
1) the real world need/importance of the topic
2) a brief statement of what is already known
3) identification of research gaps
4) your research aims and objectives
An effective research introduction will flow so that the reader sees the problem/need and that there is a gap in research so they want your research, which tackles the problem and fills the gap!
