There I was working away on my project & then one obviously not a great day bam, free video generation in Grok is just gone. Without any warning at all! What about my film? Sob. And I'm not talking about how everyone calls a 1-5-minute clip a "film" these days. I'm talking about a real full-length feature film made in AI. I've finished half of it, but how am I supposed to finish the rest now? I was hoping to finish it up by summer, but now the release is delayed indefinitely. I'm still preparing frames so that when any new generator pops up, I can quickly generate as many videos as possible. I would've done way more in Grok, but preparing the frames takes a lot of time. Even though Banana helps a lot, it's still stubborn sometimes & need to kick it to get what I need. Some people online are saying it's just a bug or the servers crashed & that once they fix it, all return. I'd love to believe that, I really hope the "freebie" comes back. Yeah, I’m clutching at straws here, but you never know. Still, it's been a week since march 19th and... nothing. Right now, it feels like Grok has no equal, but does anyone know any decent video generators? Weak ones won't cut it, they just won't handle this film. There’s a mountain of work left to do, so creating endless accounts for 1–3 generations isn't an option. Especially since I do a ton of takes until I get exactly what fits my vision. I only committed to such a massive project because I saw that Grok could handle action. It takes a few kicks, but can get good shots. It's a totally different level compared to the video I made last year ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeM_yM_cuqg ). As for the teaser, I'll tell right now, I put it together from failed shots. I figured the film would feel fresher if see different shots when it finally comes out. Though many moments here are very similar, so you'll recognize them in the film immediately. I also threw in a few fragments that were made for the trailer but didn't make the final cut. Oh, and even though there’s a "9" in the title, this movie has nothing to do with that game that just came out. I came up with this trailer way before any game announcement. Yeah, it was supposed to be just a trailer, but after seeing that the generator had way more potential than last year, the trailer instantly turned into a short film, and then quickly into a whole feature film. My teaser alone, which should have been 30 seconds max, stretched out to 4 minutes. So it's no surprise the trailer with a few plot scenes turned into a full-blown film, heh. Besides, this trailer was supposed to be my first AI video. Back then, I just wanted to make a trailer for a game that didn't exist yet, an action trailer, at least as much as the generators at the time allowed. I prepared the character designs, made notes for the scenes, generated the music... and then realized I should save this trailer for later. Then, at the beginning of the year, I found out Grok lets generate videos for free. I didn't believe it at first, but I tried a few shots & the results were impressive. That's when I remembered this trailer & realized I could finally make it. Ugh, why did I find out about Grok so late? It was available long enough that I could have finished more than one movie. Shit… I wasn't even planning on making a teaser, just this one picture, but another problem came up, there are threats of the internet being cut off in Russia entirely. I really, really hope that never happens. If they do that, just know that the russian government has officially lost its mind, sending its people back to the stone age. If the internet gets partially blocked or phased out, look for me by my username, avatar & my works. Wherever things are still accessible, I’ll be there.
