Resistance & Resistivity, Example Problems
Includes four different worked examples for calculating resistance and resistivity. Resistivity is a property of a material that tells you how strongly it resists or conducts the flow of electric current. A low resistivity indicates a material that allows the flow of electric current. Resistivity is commonly represented by the Greek letter ρ (rho). The SI unit of electrical resistivity is the ohm-meter (Ω⋅m). Resistance of a conductor is directly proportional to the length of the conductor and inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area of the conductor.
