This song was written by Mr Derrick Stewart.
Mr Stewart is a freedom fighter activist who is of the opinion that the Mayan land rights is the best way to protect the land for the future generations. He believes that without the enforcement of the CCJ rulings, which requires the government of Belize to respect the Mayas rights, the land in the Toledo District will be shared between the politicians, their families and cronies. The land rights give full control of the land that is customarily used for farming, hunting, fishing, cultural and spiritual activities and traditions, to the Belizean Mopan and Q' ueqchi' indigenous people.
