3D Printed DML build parts: http://www.typicalben.net/s/shop
In my quest to build a good looking, great sounding DML speaker system, I'm thinking that the best 'bang for buck' solution might be to combine midrange panels with traditional cone speakers capable of handling the lows more efficiently.
This is partly driven by my new 'listening room', which doesn't have a good place for a separate subwoofer.
The hybrid design is not without it's challenges - things like balancing the outputs of the woofer with the panel, blending the sounds convincingly and building a decent crossover will all have to be overcome.
Hopefully, the result is worth it!
