In this video, David is reviewing the sight words he has already learned through the Match/Sort/Select/Name process. Once the student has mastered reading the sight words through the Match/Sort/Select/Name process, I add the word to a key ring and we begin each reading lesson by reviewing the words the child has already learned. Be sure to take time to mix the words up as you add more and more words for the review. Now that your student can read these words, a way to help generalize would be to then create opportunities in their natural environment to read these words. Ideas for generalization include but are not limited to: reading books with these words, finding the words in their environment on signs or in menus.
