We rig a brand new playable character from scratch in Maya as part of our 3D-to-2D sprite pipeline for The Rend. This is the unedited reality of solo indie dev: working with an aging pipeline, giving feedback to freelancers, and figuring it out as we go. You'll see the full technical art workflow—from importing a fresh model, placing joints for a humanoid (way more complex than our Owl Bear), handling fingers with proper metacarpals, scarf rigging with extra joints for overlap, skinning workflows, and Delta Mush deformation tricks.
