This scenario sets us up to deal with a robbery in progress. The suspect is pointing a firearm at the victim. As you come to the top of the stair the suspect then looks at you. In this scenario the student is told they can't leave and must confront the suspect. Obviously most of the time we want to take ourselves away from a dangerous situation, but for training purposes we don't allow it. You must engage the suspect with use of force and you training in mind.
