To coin a phrase, the buck stops with the head referee. If something goes wrong, you're the person people look to in order to fix it, if you're lucky. If you're not lucky, you're the person to blame. But in a tight or highly contentious game, there's nothing better than a good head referee to keep the peace and to keep the rest of the officials smelling like roses, even if's crap everyone else. There's very little about how to be a good referee. There are a few things in the rules about the roles, powers, and responsibilities, but few on how to use those powers effectively. Head Reffing, like any other position, requires practice to get down. But it also requires patience, and a fair about of finesse to be able to work with all the different types of people you'll be working with as the HR. This module is designed to give a new head referee a bit of insight on how to be effective in that position. How to conduct the meetings you’re required to be a part of, and even how to handle some situations where someone is guaranteed not to be happy.
