Today I will quickly show how I make my rose canes (this is not my original technique but I've seen it done by so many clay artists I don't know who it belongs to). I do not do a background; instead I shape the edges of each slice. The ones shown will be buttons.
Supplies: two contrasting colors of polymer clay (usually light & dark shades of a similar hue), sharp blade, optional acrylic block, sculpting tool
