Roux learning remote collar Place

Here, Roux is working on learning remote collar Place for the first time. By using the stim in the continuous mode, at a very low level, the collar helps to clarify what it is I want her to do. When I say "Place", I give a continuous stim until she is completely on the cot, at which point I turn it off. Any time she comes off of Place before I've released her, I simply put the stim back on and guide her back to the cot. She quickly understands what the goal is, and before long she is going to Place from farther away, with no leash guidance, and stays until I release her. At this level, the stim is not at all uncomfortable, and just serves as a pressure source, similarly to the leash. Remote collars are not just meant for punishment (though that is also a valuable role they can serve as well)... They do an amazing job at communicating with the dog at all levels. This tool is so versatile, and all dogs can benefit from its use!
