Transmitter of one device is connected with the receiver of another and vice versa. Voltage between -3V to – 25 V as a logic 1( one) while the voltage between +3 to +25V as a logic 0 (Zero) Advantages: 1.Very widely used 2.Low Complexity 3.Supports Full Duplex Communication Disadvantages : 1.Only Two device communication 2.Short distance communication 3.Chances of noise More About RS485 RS485 is a supports multipoint communication up to 32 devices. Differential signaling between devices called A & B Voltage -200mV as a logic 1( one) while the voltage +200mVas a logic 0 (Zero) Advantages: 1.Multidrop communication support 2.Faster Transfer Speed as compare to RS232 3.Works over longer distance 4.Less chance of Noise Disadvantages : 1.Not widely used. 2.Support Half Duplex Communication, only two device communicates at a time. 3.Require termination resistor.
