Russian Squats Routine #3
This is my 3rd time in my life (2nd time this year) that I did the 6 weeks Russian Squats Routine. To me it's one of my favourite programs and I'm sooo happy with the improvement I've gotten in just 6 weeks. My previous 1RM was 135kg (that was May this year, took a bit of a break between late August to early Oct from the gym). Today, I did the coveted 3 plates squats (140kg) for a rep pretty easily (which I struggled and failed the previous time), so I pushed for 145kg and succeeded! That's a big 10kg improvement for my PR which I really happy about. My bodyweight increased a slight bit (61.3kg to 63kg on the final day). I also had other new PRs such as 125kg 5x5, 130kg 5RM, 135kg 3RM. Pullups have also gotten much stronger - working hard towards consistent one arms now. I didn't do as much front squats and deadlifts this time around, as I lacked the motivation to do so (injuries as well). Had a lot of annoying injuries whilst going through the routine but glad I pushed through even on days I don't feel quite fresh. Stucked to all my initial goals and only missed 1 rep in one occasion. Will be taking a break from the gym again to do more Parkour to hopefully convert the new found strength to power, until next time I shall endeavour further. Gotta hit that 2.5x BW goal next!
