RV Solar Install
My sister just got a Lance 1575 travel trailer and she wanted solar on it, so I installed it for her. This video follows the entire process from wiring the panels, building the racks, installing them on the roof with 3m 5952 VHB tape, running the wiring through the trailer, installing the charge controller and remote meter to testing the system. Panels are installed with tilting capability. This is just showing what I did to install the system. I make no guarantees that this is the best way to do it or that it won't fail. Use your own judgment, install at your own risk. Exceeding that could damage the controller. The wording was a little confusing, so for the sake of caution I decided not to wire the panels in series, which would have had a combined open circuit voltage of over 49 volts. Instead, I could have used the EPEver 2210 AN charge controller, which is also a 20-amp controller but which allows higher voltage input than the 2206 AN does. But I already had the 2206 AN in hand and decided just to use it and wire the panels in parallel. The 2210 AN is here: https://amzn.to/2ST6mmQ And it is also available on eBay, from China: https://ebay.us/ri384D ** - Note on the 1 inch pvc adapters - These are most likely much cheaper at Home Depot or your local hardware store. Also, these are not Furniture Grade. I was unable to find them in Furniture Grade, so I spray painted them with white paint to add UV protection to them. *** - Note on the MC-4 Solar Connectors - I only needed two of these but the link is to a pack of 12 with plastic tightening tools included. I figured I'd use the extras in the future. If you want to buy them by the pair, here's a link for that (but they are expensive individually): https://amzn.to/3ng091r #rvsolarsystem #rvsolar #offgridsolar
