Ryan Sutherland, MD ’26 (candidate)
Ryan Sutherland, MD ’26 (candidate), shares his deep gratitude for the financial support that has made his education at Yale School of Medicine possible. In this video, Ryan reflects on how this generosity has not only lifted the burden of financial stress but also opened doors to pursue meaningful, multidisciplinary research. Thanks to this support, Ryan has been able to focus on global health and the social determinants of health—working with marginalized populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty in New Haven and around the world. He also conducts research in the Department of Urology, exploring how patients and providers navigate active surveillance in prostate cancer care. Ryan expresses heartfelt thanks to the donors and supporters who have invested in his future and the future of medicine. Their contributions have helped create a community where curiosity, compassion, and collaboration thrive—without financial barriers.
