S18010 Absorption Tester

For the determination of the water absortion time and water absorbency of tissue. The absorption tester is manufactured from robust stainless steel. The exchangeable water container (3 litre) is lowered and raised via an integrated pneumatic cylinder. The immersion basket is located at an angle of 30° above the raising and lowering mechanism. It is attached to the load cell that weights the sample with and without water. The digital display and controls are located on the upper part of the unit at a comfortable height. A sample weighing approximately 5 grams ± 0,2 g is placed in the immersion basket. The water container is filled with distilled water and the lifting and lowering me-chanism is set. Pushing the start button automatically weighs the sample and the water container is lifted pneu-matically. After the sample is completely immersed in the water, the T button is pressed to determine the immersion time. Once 30 seconds have elapsed the water container is lowered. Excess water then drips back into the container from the sample for 60 seconds. Then the sample is once more weighed and the absorbency of the material is determined. The values, in relation to 1g sample weight, can be read from the digital display as values and statistics.
