I run through exactly what I've done, and give a breakdown of which cable is doing what. It is illegal for an unlicensed person to run 240V (Low Voltage) cabling in Australia without the required electrical license, but the 12V cabling is fine to do. The general electrical standards in Australia are AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules) and the standards for a Detachable Premises are AS/NZS 3001. I used 4mm Twin for the 12V DC wiring and 2.5mm Twin & Earth enclosed entirely in corrugated conduit for the 240V AC cabling.
