Saddle Thrombus
A good ole saddle thrombus! Sorry the video was a bit lack luster compared to my usual energy! But the information is still solid. Hope this helps! And yes, this can happen in dogs, just not as commonly. A lot of times euthanasia will be the recommendation or choice by the owners because the prognosis is so poor, and here are some more details on why that is: 1. These clots are SO painful, that we often have a very difficult time controlling pain at home if both back legs have issues. 2. If both back legs are affected, most of those cats don’t regain the ability to walk on them again. 3. Many of these cats go into heart failure, and either pass away from that, or are euthanized since their survival time may only be a few days to weeks (months if extremely lucky) 4. When cats have severe underlying heart disease, over all prognosis is only 3-6 months on average.
