Sandbar Crab Fly Pattern Tutorial
A few years back a friend was heading to Southern California and sent me a few photos of some sandbar crab fly patterns. I have zero experience fishing the Salt or the Surf and so I tried to replicate those patterns as true as I could since I figured they had more experience. The same friend is traveling back and wanted some more and I figured I would have some fun and make a video. I tried to find the original photos and pattern to give credit where due, but couldnt find it after googling everything relates to sandbar crabs. ***It’s pretty much the same is the Vlahos Sand Flea by Sandbar flies (Nick Vlahos). His pattern is awesome. I am not sure if it was the original photos I got a few years back, but close enough i want to make sure credit goes to him. Also, a few comments from more friends in the Southern California suggested the orange belly as he has done in his pattern so that is something I will be adding**+* Tie some up in some heavier weights using large and x large dumbell eyes or covering the whole shank with lead wraps. Color combinations are endless with the materials available.
