Sept. 3 1989 we raised the sails for the last time and docked at Pier 17 in the South Street Seaport in NYC where thousands of people greeted us along with the fireboats. Guests came onboard to visit the boat and an evening fireworks display complimented our return. Next morning both Soviets and Americans departed by bus from the seaport for a tour of the East Coast. Stops included lunch in Woods Hole. In Rockport, Maine a square dance was attended. Photographer Yuri visits a school classroom. Ludmilla and Yuri are introduced to David Lyman of the Maine Photographic Workshops. He offers them free scholarships. Doctor Eduoard sings for a small crowd.
