Saturn Evolution (1991-2010)

The Saturn Corporation, established on January 7, 1985, as a subsidiary of General Motors, aimed to compete in the American compact car market against Japanese imports with its "no-haggle" sales approach. Operating semi-independently, Saturn launched its first vehicles five years later, utilizing advanced features like dent-resistant polymer panels. However, as Saturn drew resources from GM, it gradually lost its independence, leading to the incorporation of shared GM products. The 2008 economic recession further restricted its development budgets, resulting in a reliance on badge-engineered vehicles and a loss of market interest. After its peak sales in 1994, Saturn ceased production in October 2009 following a failed acquisition attempt by Penske Automotive and officially ended operations in October 2010.
