Video of Sir Dietrich doing a high-intensity interval training pell routine. Speed is at approx. 75% of maximum, but not hitting hard to avoid strain on joints.
This training consists of 20 seconds of repetition of a single strike, followed by 10 seconds of rest, for the following sword techniques:
Flat snap
Crucifix
Offside to off-speed head wrap
Rising feint thrust to moulinet
High Feint to crosscut
Offside, shield snatch, leg wrap
Rising wrap
Reverse crosscut
A typical workout will include 4 sets like this video but with different groupings of techniques.
This training method is good for combat conditioning and efficiency for 'known' shots. I use slow work instead when developing muscle memory and shot mechanics.
