One Halloween night Edward tells the story about the ghost engine returning to the smelters on Halloween to look for its lost whistle. Sir Topham Hatt then tells Percy, Thomas, and Duck that they’re to collect scrap at the smelters yard tonight. At the smelters all Percy thought about was Edward’s ghost engine. Thomas kept on teasing about being scared. The yard manager needed one more engine to finish up. Duck wanted to pay back Thomas for his teasing. Thomas stayed at the yards and Duck and Percy left. Thomas began to feel very scared. Every sound and shape was spooky. Thomas wheezed and it set off a steam whistle. What made the sound?
