--------------$$$$$$SOLD$$$$$$-------$550 Done with this guy. This is a total gut and redo of an old 50s PA head. I have no idea what kind it was because the poor thing had been repainted with house paint! I stripped out all the guts and sanded it down to bare metal and refinished it. The original amp used some real wack 7 volt tubes and I decided not to try and get it all to work. Could not find much info on those tubes and who knows if it would sounds good after all the work so I built all brand new guts in it. A 5U4 rectifier tube feeds a pair of 6V6 in fixed bias for a nice 20 watts. The preamp uses two NOS 6SL7 tubes for a sonic nod to the 50s and the bigger fatter sounds you can get from those tubes. I drew it all up and made a one off Turret board and soldered it all together. Sounds really nice! A nice cross between a fender deluxe and a 50s Ampeg. Would make a great pedal platform but does breakup nicely. The controls are a simple Volume, treble and bass. It has outputs for 8 and 16 ohm speaker cabinets. As always I used my Telecaster straight into the amp. I used a 4-10 closed back cab w/ ceramic Jensen reissue speakers and mic'd it up with a tube mic I built into a Pre 73 straight into Reaper thru a Tascam US1800. No processing was done post recording.
