I always enjoy making my own bases. I think they visually bind an army or a game together, but is also a way for me to put my own mark on my miniatures. In this video I use a rolling pin - as the foundation - to then build my Sci Fi vision upon.

"Pipe Circuits" Silicone mould (GSW)
Soilworks "Medium" texture-paste
Super Glue & Sodium Bicarbonate (aka baking soda) - for best result use pure Sodium Bicarbonate.
