This tutorial is beginner friendly. (PLEASE NOTE THAT I USE U.S. CROCHET TERMS IN ALL CROCHET TUTORIALS) About the scrappy granny square blanket: I use double knit/3 weight yarn. If you use a thicker yarn, you will need less squares, if you use a thinner yarn, you will need more squares. So you can adjust the yarn and the size of the blanket. I use a 3.75mm crochet hook, a wool needle and a pair of scissors. FINAL SIZE of the blanket, including the border, is 62x62 inches or 158x158cm. YARN USED: 100 granny squares with 5 rounds used 2330 m / 2560 yds of 3 weight/DK scrap yarn (which is equal to 10 x 100g balls of the brand of yarn I was using). For the binding colour (my binding colour was hot pink), crocheting round 6 on 100 squares plus one round around the final blanket before starting the border, I used 1165 m / 1280 yds, which is equal to 5 x 100g balls of the brand of yarn I was using.
