Scratch 2050 D4D pitch

Building an inclusive digital economy has long been an objective of the Government of Rwanda. The Government focuses on achieving rapid digital transformation and has embraced the digital economy as a lever for accelerating growth, improving services delivery, and enabling decent work, especially for young Rwandans. To reinforce this ambition VVOB - education for development together with our partners implements the Scratc2h 2050 Project. The project improves the relevance of secondary STEM education and strengthens the link with the world of work by supporting STEM and ICT teachers in in eastern Rwanda, to set up after-school coding clubs. By introducing secondary school learners to Scratch – a free coding tool, the project develops creative, problem-solving and collaborating skills, helping learners to thrive in a digital economy.
