Coding for beginners. Free kids coding lessons to teach basic computer programming concepts and computational thinking. Scratch coding uses blocks to build the code. Blocks are good for beginners of any age, as they allow all the concepts to be learned much more quickly than traditional text based coding. Lessons will build on each other as new skills are learned.
Lesson 5 uses a variable to change a character’s speed when they jump to simulate gravity. Variables, loops, and scripts are used in this lesson to compare various ways to make a character jump.
