In part 1 of this tutorial (part 2 will be about creating a wireframe render of the model) we'll be modeling two slightly different versions of a simple bolt using subdivision surface modeling. No third-party plugins are needed.
This may seem like a fairly long tutorial for an object that can be modeled in about 3 minutes. It is, however, aimed at beginners, and rather than just making you click on buttons I'm also explainíng a lot of things in detail that may be helpful if you are new to SDS modeling and/or Blender. Even a very basic object like this has tricky parts and there's problems you'll need to understand and learn how to fix them.
